Trip to IKEA on saturday and the Party

First of all i wanted to tell you i had a great time yesterday with my parents we got up in the morning and went to breakfast with jenn & Andrew and the kids and than we headed off to IKEA! okay it was great I need to tell you one thing about the catalogue the designer of the catalogue was leaving the company and took a picture of his ***** and pasted it one the dog inside the front cover of the magazine and so they had to discontinue it. When my dad told me I didn't believe him until we saw it when we went down there and picked up a catalogue. It was so funny but I can't believe someone did that. Anyways the shopping was great. I got new curtians for my front window now all I need is a nice sheer for it. and I got a bunch of other things as well so my suitcase is going to be packed.
We than headed home afterwards and made a few stops along the way at the grocery store and linens and things. Than marina came over and we played dominos after we strightened up the house and made some lasagna for sunday dinner.

For a few weeks I have been working with Karen a co-worker of dad's to organize a surprise party for mom and dad's 30th wedding anniversary which was on August 28th. We invided around 30 people with out them even knowing. Mom and dad decided to invite some people for dinner today which turned out great because than mom made 3 lasagnas. When they walked thru the door there was a whole bunch of people waiting for them inside the house they were so surprised.
We all got together (their friends and family) and gave some money to get them an IKEA Gift Certificate now they can buy their new kitchen table that they wanted. I scrap booked their wedding pictures and gave them to them and Karen made a nice book for people to write in it and leave comments to mom and dad. Anthony and I also purchased them a really beautiful boquet of 2 roses with symbolized them and a few small white flowers which symbolized the rest of the family. needless to day mom and dad cried plenty today.

After most people went home we played dominos with Anne and her son and marina. we had a great time now we are just watching big brother.

Sounds like you're having a good time! You deserve your mini vacation :) I wish I had a creative bone in my body when it came to organizing parties and special events. I'm such a bland person ;) lol

Jason had a head on collision with a girl in Cornwall when he was on the way to the post office to check the mail. It was totally her fault and she was ticketed. Our van is in the impound until we find out what the insurance adjuster is going to give us for it. Jason is pretty sore. Even though it's 4-5 days later, he can barely turn his head, bend over, or lift his arms :( This really is not good considering he's a self employed carpenter and our sole income earner.

I'm going to get Jude to council us on how to properly get a settlement from the insurance company since they've been through it before. Please pray for us.

Amelia is doing great! Her eyes are getting less and less red everyday though they are still turned inward and she's still seeing double vision. But she's our ol' Amelia :) Onry as ever!

To top off our week, I was diagnosed with bronchitis Saturday. Nothing they can really give me to help so I have to just tough it out. It can last 4-6 weeks :( Sometimes I feel like I'm going to cough a lung up...ugh.

But we're blessed and still smiling! Have a great time in Ontario and a safe trip home! See you later gator :)
